Twitter and Twitter Script

Twitter is one of the most popular social network right now, some of which contain specifically friends that are basically only “virtual” friends, but most people use Twitter to keep in touch with “real time” friends as well.  It works through micro blogs of 140 or less characters. One could also say that Twitter is a social network, a blog, and an instant messenger on steroids, because it all happens instantly when sent.

Friendships and Twittermobs
The really cool thing about Twitter is that it allows you to get as close as you wish to all your friends, so that if you want to keep up with each and every itch everybody has, and what everybody had for lunch and what was said during lunch, you can. It’s also superbly great at being used for a Twittermob, meaning that if you want all your friends to go to one particular bar one night, it happens fast, as everyone Twitters the other, and bingo all of your friends are all there without you having to notify each separately.

Empire Building
Basically too, Twitter also gives a chance for both bloggers and marketers to unite and thus to befriend each other. Together, they can then construct a massive “empire” of contacts with which they then can share links to their respective posts. The “followers” in the empire can then re-tweet the links to others and then of course the end result is bigger exposure. This also means that the previous means of getting authority for good writing in blogs and such as via comments, and subscribers are now being replaced by authority supported instead on broadcast coverage.

The two can work hand in hand of course, blogs and Twitter, since it is best to write Twitter comments about what was in your blog, get the responses and comments and tie that back into Twitter. It’s especially cool if you’ve gotten a lot of comments about a certain blog topic, and you wish to sustain the interest by putting some of the better comments on Twitter.

Relationship Building
Looked at in another way, Twitter is useful for building relationships. This means that once a relationship is formed, often this person ends up reading your blog every day if your blog is interesting enough. Sometimes if you wish to really pick up readership, send a tweet to your followers, to the effect that you are running a contest, your few tweets to those followers will often turn into an avalanche of readers provided you back it up with an interesting blog, of course.

Staying in Contact
Finally, if you are out of town for instance, either on business or vacation, you can still remain in close contact with your friends via Twitter. This means that you can send them short messages that are in fact blurbs about what you are doing which can instantly go to all your friends, instead of having to email each separately. This can be very useful if you are planning a specific blog about it later, thus setting up your interested readers in advance.
